COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Drivers took the warning and traffic flowed smoothly on Monday morning in east Columbus.

The intersection of Lehmberg and West Lehmberg Roads is now a three way stop.

The bridge at Dutch Village was shut down because some of the metal pilings holding the bridge up have rusted.

Officers and public works staff were at the intersection to help with traffic flow.

Some minor traffic backups were reported at Waterworks Road and Gardner Boulevard because of the closure.

The city council plans to award a bid to fix the Magby Creek bridge at Tuesday night’s meeting.
