One Killed in Tishomingo Crash

TISHOMINGO COUNTY, Miss. – The Mississippi Highway Patrol is still investigating a two-vehicle crash in Tishomingo County that claimed the life of an Iuka resident.

Troopers were dispatched at approximately 6 A.M. to US 72, near the scales, in the eastbound lanes. Upon arriving it appeared Clive Carvey, 52, of Marietta, GA, operating a 2011 Freightliner tractor/trailer, was traveling eastbound when his vehicle collided with a 2007 GMC Yukon, driven by Christopher Littlejohn, 26, of Iuka.

Littlejohn received fatal injuries in the crash. He died on the scene. He had to be extricated from his vehicle with the jaws of life.

Carvey was uninjured.

The crash kept the eastbound lanes on US 72 closed for approximately two hours as crews worked to clean up the scene.
