STARKVILLE, Miss. – (WCBI) Oktibbeha County’s economic groups support a tri-county partnership.

Members of the Greater Starkville Development Partnership and the Oktibbeha County Economic Development Agency met Monday night to execute a revised contract to join forces with the Columbus Lowndes Development LINK.

They unanimously approved the contract that is very similar to the one thee LINK signed with Clay County and West Point earlier this year.

The three year deal is an interim agreement, while officials work to develop a Golden Triangle Development Authority by 2014.

Meanwhile, Oktibbeha County Supervisors and Starkville Alderman have yet to financially back the plan.

Both groups will meet together Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m at the Oktibbeha County Courthouse to discuss their options.
