Video: Elementary Schoolers Celebrate Money Raised Celebrity-Style

ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) — Some local elementary school students are celebrating a fundraiser, celebrity-style.

Dozens of Belle Elementary fourth and fifth graders raised more than $20,000 in just two-and-a-half weeks for a new marque for the school.

To celebrate the accomplishment, the students dressed up like their favorite celebrities, and rode in Hummer limos to the Amory Pizza Hut for lunch.

Students tell WCBI it was nice to have a change of scenery.

“A select few get to go on a trip to a new destination other than school, and get to have the opportunity to have to go out of their boundaries,” said fifth grader Caleb Roberson.

Leftover money from the fundraiser will go toward playground equipment for the school.
