SCOOBA, Miss. (Press Release) — The Art Department at East Mississippi Community College’s Scooba campus is hosting an exhibit of student art now through Dec. 12 in the F.R. Young Student Union.

Scooba art instructor Terry Cherry said the exhibit is an opportunity for students to get their first taste of publicly displaying their art. A reception for the exhibit will be held Dec. 8 from 2-4 p.m.

“We do this every year to spotlight the best work our students have produced and to give them a chance to show off the progress they’ve made since taking art classes at EMCC. And the reception will give students the opportunity to explain their creative processes so they can get some experience answering questions about their art,” said Cherry.

The exhibit is located in the activity rooms adjacent to the common area in the F.R. Young Student Union. No appointments are necessary to view the exhibit. Both the exhibit and the Dec. 8 reception are free and open to the public.
