EPA Recognizes Blues Springs Toyota Plant

LEE COUNTY, Miss. – (WCBI) The Blue Springs made Toyota Corolla is one of the country’s most fuel efficient cars. The same can now be said for the plant where the cars are built.

The Environmental Protection Agency named Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mississippi one of only 70 plants nationwide to reach energy star status.

Companies reach that mark by cutting their energy bills and greenhouse gas emissions by a certain percentage. Nationwide the 70 plants saved nearly $725 million in energy costs and cut greenhouse gas by 8 million tons.

Nissan’s Canton facility also made the list
