Executive Recovery Group Awarded Disaster Recovery Management and Monitoring Services Contract

TUPELO, Miss. (Press Release) — The City of Tupelo has awarded the contract for disaster recovery management and monitoring services to Executive Recovery Group Inc. of Picayune, Miss. Executive Recovery Group has strategically partnered with Cook Coggin Engineers of Tupelo and, combined, the two will provide the critical services needed during long-term recovery from the April 28 tornado.

Executive Recovery Group uses the latest in technology, DebrisTech, designed to electronically monitor the debris removal process from start to finish. These services are 100 percent reimbursable by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This technology was used in Moore, Okla., after the May 20, 2013, tornado and another on May 31, 2013.

DebrisTech tracks each ton of debris removed from a location and records the GPS location, time of removal, takes a photograph of the load and records the type of debris and contractor, among other metrics used to justify reimbursement to the city by FEMA.

The DebrisTech was designed by Brooks Wallace, a professional engineer and vice president and chief operations officer of Executive Recovery Group, in 2010 in a response for real time auditing of debris removal. Wallace has worked as an engineer on numerous disaster-related projects in South Mississippi, including Hurricane Katrina.

Cook Coggin Engineers, Executive Recovery Group’s partner in this contract, is represented by Jack Daniel Farmer, a professional engineer and one of two principals at Cook Coggin. Farmer has been employed at Cook Coggin since 1978.

In addition to his master’s in environmental engineering, Farmer’s proficiency in his field includes work experience in diversified public utilities, including municipal water and sewer and the design, construction and operation and maintenance of numerous water and waste water treatment facilities. He was a team leader in the PUL Alliance Engineering site development that provided the platform for Toyota Mississippi to locate in Blue Springs.
