COLUMBUS, MISS. (WCBI) — A solider returning home from overseas after being away for over a year got an early Christmas present on Saturday.

A fighter, mother, and daughter walked into a surprise as she returned home from Kuwait. Her family stood holding signs waiting for her to step off the plane to be wrapped in their arms. Words couldn’t express how she felt.

“Wonderful. Best I’ve felt in almost a year.”

Sargent Allison Harris says all she wanted for Christmas was to be with her son, Dawson Beasley, and his wish came true.

“I can finally see her again.”

She was the last one off the plane and when she saw her family it was like a dream.

“This is all I wanted for Christmas was to be home and it was a hit or miss being home for Christmas and apparently it up and hit so I’m thrilled.”

Her mom, Gayle George, is excited to have her back and missed this so much.

“I guess her coming and eating with me.”

The family plans on eating southern food and spending lots of time together.
