Fatal Pickens County Accident

PICKENS, Ala. (Press Release) – A three-vehicle crash Friday, July 3, claimed the life of a Northport woman and injured another. Jane Roebuck Drake, 80, was killed when the 2012 Chevrolet Malibu she was driving collided with a 2011 Navistar Tractor Trailer driven by Anthony Dewayne Napier, 35, of Northport. Prior to colliding with the Navistar, Drake collided with a 2009 Acura TL driven by Christie Grays, 41, of Miami, Fla. Grays was not injured. Drake was pronounced dead at the scene. Napier was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The crash occurred at 6:05 p.m. on U.S. 82 near the 22.3 mile marker two miles west of Gordo. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
