ABERDEEN, Miss. (AP) — A 57-year-old Saltillo man will have a couple of more months to prepare for his federal bank robbery trial.

Chris Cosner was scheduled to go to trial November 30th in U.S. District Court in Aberdeen. He’s accused of robbing the First American Bank in Saltillo.

This week, the court granted a continuance, delaying the trial until January 19th.

Cosner allegedly carried a pistol and a pipe bomb into the bank on July first. He escaped with about $20,000 in cash, but dropped the bag after the dye pack exploded.

Saltillo Police Chief Grant Bailey captured Cosner about five minutes later.Officials said Cosner had been out of prison just three weeks at the time of his arrest.

He is currently housed in the Lafayette County Jail.
