Five Charged for Burglarizing Burned Liquor Store

CORINTH, Miss. (WCBI) — A recently burned liquor store has become a new target for burglars.

Five people have been charged for attempting to steal liquor from the One Stop Package Store, which was damaged during a fire on April 1st.

The suspects; Joey Nance, 54, Robin Hollins Jr., 25, Chris Burrell, 29, Michael Decker, 21, and Floyd Hill, 29, have all been charged with burglary of a building.

Nance was arrested Sunday after sending police on a chase that ended on Scales Street. It was later discovered that he had successfully broken into the store earlier that day.

Days Prior to Nance’s arrest Burrell, Decker, Hill, and Hollins were taken into custody. The four suspects were pulled over by police when an officer noticed multiple alcohol bottles. The bottles were stolen from One Stop Package Store.

Police Chief Ralph Dance stated to the Daily Corinthian that the state Alcoholic Beverage Control has declared the alcohol unsafe due to exposure to intense heat .

All five suspects bail range between $5,000 and $20,000.

Nance has also been charged with attempted burglary of a building and felony fleeing.
