LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A Lowndes County man may not be quite so welcome at the next family reunion.

John Lewis Kellum II, 34, is charged with credit card fraud, identity theft, forgery and possession of a weapon by a felon. Lowndes County detectives say Kellum took credit cards and other personal documents belonging to a relative and made “a large sum” of purchases online and at businesses.

He has a prior fraud related conviction. He is free on $25,000 bond.

In an unrelated case, a Columbus man already in trouble for domestic assault now faces more charges.

Lowndes County detectives say 30-year-old Eddie Bluitt is charged with intimidating a witness, burglary and simple assault by threat for repeatedly threatening and showing up at the home of the woman he is charged with assaulting earlier this year.

He was arrested this week near her home. No bond has been set.

In another case, a Columbus man is indicted on fondling charges.

Court records show 76-year-old Charles Rueff was processed this week and released on 5 thousand dollar bond. He is accused of improperly touching a girl under the age of 18 last November.

The Lowndes County Grand Jury handed down the indictment earlier this month.
