Former Mayor Laid to Rest

MABEN, Miss. (WCBI) – Maben’s former mayor is laid to rest.

Jim Harris Johnson died Saturday (1/19) of natural causes at his Maben home. He was 72.

Johnson served as the Oktibbeha town’s leader from 1993 until 1997.

Before becoming mayor, Johnson worked for his father’s timber and logging business. He also co-owned B&J Quick Stop with his wife, Betty Johnson.

He was buried Center Grove Baptist Cemetery.
