COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Former Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour was in Columbus today speaking to the Rotary Club.

Barbour discussed energy reform and focused on the benefits of using natural gas to help reduce energy costs. He acknowledged that natural gas prices can be very volatile but believes it should be one of the many resources used.

“You don’t want to be overly reliant on any one source. We’ve got plentiful, affordable, American energy and we have it in a diverse supply. Preserving diversity protects you from price spikes,” says Barbour.

Barbour is the co-founder of the lobbying group BGR Consulting.
