Former Tupelo Police Chief Dies

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI)- Former Tupelo police chief Ed Crider has passed away.

Officials say Crider died Wednesday afternoon around four at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo.

Crider, 89, suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Crider went missing last May. He was found safe in Russellville, Kentucky, about 284 miles from Tupelo.
The Mayor issued a statement, saying “He performed very admirably as a tremendously popular elected police chief for our citizens for many years. Our thoughts and prayers will be with the Crider family.”
