JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) — Four Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science students are some of the top graduating seniors in the nation.

Dauttatreyo (Wrishi) Bandyopadhyay, Nathan Barlow, Jason Necaise, and Meilun Zhou have qualified as candidates for the U.S. Presidential Scholar Award.

It’s one of the nation’s highest honors for high school seniors.

Up to 161 students from across the country are selected for the award each year.

They’re chosen based on academic success, leadership, and community involvement.

Scholars will participate in the National Recognition Program in June, where they will be honored during a White House-sponsored ceremony.
