SCOOBA, Miss. (WCBI) -It seems a little too good to be true. East Mississippi Community College has been offering free tuition to students in its six district area for four years. Lowndes, Oktibbeha, Clay, Noxubee, Kemper, and Lauderdale students entering their freshman year of college can go for free if they meet EMCC admissions requirements. Since the program began in 2009, more than 400 students have taken advantage of free tuition. EMCC has awarded over $480,000 dollars in assistance through the Tuition Guarantee.
