Fulton Voters Approve Alcohol Sales

Fulton, Mississippi (WCBI) – Fulton voters approve alcohol sales Tuesday.

There were two referendums on the ballot. One for beer and light wine sales, the other for liquor sales.

697 people voted in favor of beer and light wine sales. 440 voted against the measure.

Meanwhile, 683 voted for liquor sales. 452 people voted against the sale of liquor inside the city.

Supporters believe it would bring more revenue to the Itawamba County town.

While opponents worry the alcohol sales would bring more crime to the community.

Aldermen will now have to set guidelines and regulations for the alcohol sales to determine when and where it can be sold.
