Funeral Set for Mother of NFL Great Jerry Rice

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCB) — The funeral for the mother of legendary pro football player and Crawford native Jerry Rice is Saturday.

Eddie B. Rice died Christmas Day. She was 77.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church in the Oktoc Community of Oktibbeha County. West Funeral Home in Starkville is in charge of arrangements.

She was born in Starkville, one of 16 children. She had eight children of her own, including Jerry Rice who is considered one of the greatest receivers in pro football history.
