GA. Firm Buys Tupelo Based Hospice Company

Halcyon Healthcare, a portfolio company of Health Evolution Partners (HEP), and parent company to Halcyon Hospice, has acquired Community Hospice of Mississippi, headquartered in Tupelo, MS.

Community Hospice was founded by the brother and sister team of Charles “Buck” Boatner and his sister Marilyn Hicks, and has seven locations throughout the state of Mississippi. Locations include Tupelo, Batesville, Hattiesburg, Yazoo City, Philadelphia, Clinton, and an inpatient unit, Darlington Oaks, based in Tupelo. Mark Kulik of The Braff Group served as exclusive merger and acquisition advisor for Community Hospice.

Halcyon Healthcare was formed in 2010 by Dan Kohl, Jack Draughon and HEP to build a leading hospice company in the southeastern United States. Starting with the acquisition of two providers in the Atlanta area and then expansion into South Georgia and South Carolina, the Community Hospice transaction marks the fifth acquisition completed by Halcyon.
