COLUMBUS/CALEDONIA, MIss. (WCBI) — Caledonia’s growing parks system gets a special gift four days before Christmas.

A gazebo that was on the grounds of the Columbus Tennessee Williams Welcome Center was moved to Ola J. Pickett Park in Caledonia Friday. The Lowndes County town plans to use the gazebo for everything from a music stage to a centerpiece for community events.

Bo Jarrett Towing did the honors for the cross-county trip with an escort from Columbus, Lowndes County and Caledonia police.

The gazebo was moved off the welcome center grounds during renovations. After the CVB and Columbus-Lowndes Parks and Recreation couldn’t find a suitable use for gazebo, the Columbus Cultural Heritage Foundation donated it to Caledonia to make room for a major landscaping project in the area around the welcome center and the CVB offices.
