Golden Triangle Airport Traffic Down From Last Year

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — After three straight years of record numbers, the number of passengers flying out of Golden Triangle airport is flattening out.

Through November, Golden Triangle traffic is down about 5 percent from last year’s record.

But the numbers still are on pace to match 2012, which was the second highest year on record. Planes leaving Lowndes County are running at between 80 and 85 percent capacity, which is above the national average.

At Jackson and Biloxi, the state’s two largest airports, passenger counts are down 10 percent from last year.
