Video: Golf Game Raises Money for Needy Kids

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Some residents are using the nice spring weather to spruce up their golf game for a good cause.

They came out to the Columbus Air Force Base Friday afternoon for the Happy Irby Christmas Fund Golf Tournament.

The nine-hole game is a fundraiser to help buy gifts for children in need this Christmas.

Organizers say this event is just the beginning.

“We have a new board, a more active board, and instead of doing a one-day event, we are going to be year-round trying to raise more money, so we can help more kids,” said organizer George Irby.

13 teams participated in Friday’s tournament.
