Gordo Manhunt For Burglary Suspect, Escapee

Gordo, Ala. (WCBI) – The young man Gordo, Alabama police are searching for is believed to be an armed teenage escapee from Virginia.

Rosel Guillen-Mendez, 16, was in custody on charges stemming from an armed bank robbery. He escaped from a Staunton, Virginia juvenile facility December 29.

He’s a Hispanic male, about six feet tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds.

The fugitive also has a tattoo on his right forearm of the word “Mendez.”

Gordo Police Chief Todd Hall says the burglary suspect broke into several cars.

A gun was also stolen in one of those burglaries.
