Monroe County, Miss. (WCBI) – From Monroe to Montgomery counties, dry, windy conditions continue to make grass fires a problem.

Now, someone may be intentionally setting some of the fires. Monroe County authorities are investigating a string of fires on roadsides from Strong Road to the Darracott community Tuesday afternoon.

The fires appear to be intentionally set but Monroe County wasn’t the only area hit. Volunteers in Montgomery County battled three grass fires Tuesday.

Two of those started from residents burning debris. Fire officials continue to warn against outdoor burning until conditions improve.
