Grenada Police Chief Takes Leave of Absence to Focus on Campaign

GRENADA, Miss. (WCBI)- Police Chief Ben Williams has taken a leave of absence to concentrate on his campaign for Grenada County sheriff.

Assistant Police Chief Garrett Hartley is running the department.

Williams leave of absence is effective Friday.

Williams was named chief in June 2013. He is one of three people running for sheriff in the August Democratic primary.
