Video: Group Runs Hundreds of Miles for St. Jude

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — A group of people is running hundreds of miles for a good cause.

49 of them are running from Memphis to Mobile, Alabama to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

They’re making their way through North Mississippi Thursday, and will spend the night in West Point.

This is the seventh year for their fundraiser, and each runner hopes to raise $2,000.

“We do it out of the love and passion in their heart for the kids of St. Jude, because they just love to do it,” said Courtney Barnett, a cancer survivor. “Danny Thomas, the founder of St. Jude, wanted the doors to close one day, and hopefully that is what we can do by helping to raise these funds.”

The group started their run Wednesday, and expects to make it to Mobile Saturday morning.
