TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Pastors and community leaders in the Tupelo area are planning for a citywide evangelistic effort next summer.

A diverse mix of pastors, community leaders and locals turned out Tuesday at Tupelo’s St. Paul United Methodist Church for a meeting coordinated by Texas-based “Time to Revive ” Ministries.

That ministry visits cities and towns after they have been invited, and they help coordinate times of prayer and preparation, leading to a week-long evangelistic effort.

Organizers say there is an intentional effort to include churches made up of different races and denominations.

“What’s interesting is that the Bible says when we become one, that’s when the world will know that Jesus was sent. So we have to address these things. Let’s not focus on the agendas and opinions of the differences, but let’s keep the main thing the main thing which is Jesus,” said Kyle Martin of Time to Revive Ministries.

The program is scheduled for next August in Tupelo.
