LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – New life will soon be sprouting from the tornado scarred landscape of Winston County. The City of Louisville with help from the Mississippi Forestry Commission, and the National Arbor Day foundation spent the day at the Louisville Coliseum handing out free tree seedlings to Winston County residents.

For residents it’s a chance to bring some beauty back to an area that was heavily damaged by last April’s tornado outbreak.

“Homeowners that lost everything. I’ve had several calls recently from people who are just crying, upset. They have their health; their homes are built back, but they don’t have trees around the yard.”

The Louisville Parks and Recreation Department and Winston County Master Gardeners hosted the giveaway.
