Video: GTECHS New Mascot and Colors Revealed

MAYHEW, Miss. (WCBI)-There are Wildcats in the Golden Triangle, and you can find them at the Golden triangle Early College High School in Mayhew.

The mascot along with its new colors, blue and gold were revealed Monday evening during a special ceremony.

The 61 freshmen in the inaugural class voted on the mascot and colors for their new school.

Administrators and students say the Wildcat is a perfect representation of the kids because it shows courage and bravery.

“Wow. I’m excited,” GTECHS student Samantha Kellum said.

“This is so exciting for us because we’ve talked a lot about our kids being risk takers and history makers and now they kind of have an identity of their own,” Director of GTECHS Jill Savely said.

The school will now begin the process of choosing a logo.
