Guilty Plea In Attala Murder

KOSCIUSKO, Ms (WCBI)  30 years in prison…That’s the sentence for an Attala County man accused in the 2012 shooting death of a Mississippi National Guard member.

43 year old Barry Ware of Sallis entered the plea today in Attala County Circuit court one week before he was to stand trial in the death of 24 year old Cedric Sharkey.

The murder took place on January 7 2012 when Ware and a fellow suspect Clifford Barber believed Sharkey had stolen some scrap metal from them. After tracking Sharkey down, a high speed chase between the suspects and Sharkey unfolded until Sharkey crashed his car. That’s when the victim ran into the woods where he was shot to death.
