STARKVILLE, Miss. (Press Release) — Harveys Starkville will start the new year with a new look. The 32-year-old restaurant will undergo a three-week renovation, beginning Jan. 1, before reopening Jan. 22.

“We’ve been doing business in Starkville for 32 years and, during that time, Starkville has been great to us,” said John Bean, President and CEO of the Eat With Us restaurant group. “The success we’ve had in Starkville is what allowed us to go to Columbus and Tupelo and develop our other restaurant concepts. We’re grateful to all the people who have been great customers all these years.”

Harveys Starkville moved to its current location on Highway 12 in 1987. Now it’s time, Bean said, to update the restaurant and invest in the next 10 to 15 years.

Renovations will include leveling all areas of the restaurant in an effort to remove stairs and increase accessibility. Additional banquet areas will be added, and the overall atmosphere refreshed and updated.

“We ask our customers be patient with us during these three weeks while we remodel and I think they’ll find it will be worth the wait,” Bean said. “Our plan is to have another 30 successful years in Starkville. All the growth and positive things happening with the city and university are exciting to us, and made the decision to completely remodel easy.”

In the weeks preceding the renovations, Harveys patrons will receive incentive cards to be redeemed at the restaurant’s reopen on Jan. 22.

Eat With Us began as a single restaurant in Starkville, Harveys, opening in 1982, and has expanded into 20 locations across three dining concepts. Through expansion, the goal has remained the same: To give great food, great service and great memories to customers every time they walk into an Eat With Us restaurant. Eat With Us operates three Harveys locations, in Tupelo, Columbus and Starkville; three Grill locations, in Tupelo, Columbus and Starkville; and 14 Sweet Peppers Deli locations in Mississippi and Alabama.
