Hearing Set On Tupelo Water In Annexed Areas

CITY OF TUPELO PRESS RELEASE

The Mississippi Public Service Commission has referred the sale of a portion of the North Lee
County Water Association in the most recently annexed area to the City of Tupelo to
Commission Chairman Brandon Presley for a hearing, report and recommendation.
Presley said he had yet to set a hearing date for the matter.
“We are grateful for the quick action of the Public Service Commission and cautiously
optimistic that this matter will be resolved soon for our newest citizens,” said Mayor Jason L.
Shelton.
The City of Tupelo paid about $3 million in August 2015 for the right to provide services to
about 560 customers in the northern and northeastern portions of the city.
