Update: Highway 45 Alternate Crash Sends Two To The Hospital
LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (Press Release) – MHP responded to a two car MVA on US 45 Alt in Lowndes County around 7:07 a.m. Tuesday morning near US 82.
A blue 2006 Peter-built tractor trailer was traveling north on US 45 Alt. A Maroon 2007 Buick, Lucerne exited off of US 82 and attempted to enter US 45 Alt.
The Buick entered the northbound flow of traffic at which time the front of the Peter-Built collided with drivers side door.
The driver of the Peter-built, 56 year old Michael E. Aston of Pontotoc sustained minor injuries. Mr Aston was wearing his seatbelt.
The driver of the Buick, 20 year old William Tatum of Artesia sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center. Mr. Tatum was not wearing a seatbelt.
The accident remains under investigation by MHP.
