LOUISVILLE, MISS. (WCBI) — Multi Grammy Award Winner and Louisville’s own is back in town for a concert at the historic Strand Theater where a big secret was told. Carl Jackson and his small army of Nashville singers returned to his home land for the “Home for Christmas with Carl Jackson” concert. The concert has been held every December for almost twenty years. It helps keeps the Strand’s doors open and benefits the town says Mayor Will Hill.

“It’s a benefit in so many ways that I mean we cant begin to describe how many. It’s just became a true staple for Christmas season here in Louisville . It really just does not feel like Christmas until you know it’s “Home for Christmas with Carl Jackson” and we’ve just tried to add to that and expand upon it and expose Louisville in every which way we can with all the visitors who come to the show annually.”

A big secret was revealed at the two sold out concert performances that will make a dream a reality. Senator Giles Ward couldn’t be more excited.

“Well for more than twenty years, the Red Hills Arts Association and the Red Hills Arts Foundation has had its goal to restore this magnificent theater to a performing arts center, to a center for teaching voice, for teaching piano.”

The revealing of the theater renovation has also been a wish for Carl Jackson himself, says Red Hills Arts Foundation Treasurer, Larry Howell.
The singers that come with him know this and that’s why they share their musical talents for no cost.

“They volunteer. They come really for Carl because Carl is a main stay in this in terms of trying to get this renovation going.”

Revealing the exciting news meant even more because the concert is the theaters’ biggest night.
The renovation is expected to be done next year and will cost half a million dollars.
