Houston Police: Shooting Started With Spilled Coffee, Man Injured

HOUSTON, Miss. (WCBI) – A 17 year-old is accused of shooting a Houston man after a coffee spill.

Police Chief Billy Voyles says the incident started at McDonalds when coffee was spilled on the unidentified female suspect on Tuesday night.

Then about 9:45 P.M. gunfire erupted on West Church Street.

Neighbors identified the victim as Lester Gates. He wast taken to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Voyles says the 17 year-old is in custody.
