TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – The market for independent movies is growing throughout Northeast Mississippi.

On Tuesday evening, hundreds turned out at Malco Theaters in Tupelo for the premiere of three independent, locally produced movies.

“Reverie,” “Genervolt,” and “Third Shift” were written and produced by Northeast Mississippi filmmaker Glenn Payne.

He says the talent pool in the area is strong, and it’s easier than ever for people to get involved.

“The best way to get into it is to just go out and start making them. If you ‘re afraid to sort of jump in, find other filmmakers who are working already, ask if you can help , make connections and it’s not hard, cause we can always use an extra pair of hands,” Payne said.

Payne has plans for two feature films.  He will soon start the fundraising process for the movies.  For more information, go to www.glennpayne.com
