Industry Expansion Will Bring 83 Jobs to Meridian

MERIDIAN – Gov. Phil Bryant and officials from Tower International, Inc. announced today the company is expanding operations at its facility in Meridian, Miss. The project represents a corporate investment of more than $15 million and will create 83 jobs.

Tower International is a leading global manufacturer of engineered automotive structural metal components and assemblies for small and large cars, crossovers, pick-ups and SUVs. Tower’s expansion involves the addition of new stamping and assembly processes in its existing 410,000- square-foot Meridian location. The expansion will accommodate existing and new contracts.

“This expansion by Tower International is a great economic win for Meridian, the State of Mississippi, and our thriving automotive industry,” Gov. Bryant said. “It serves as a testament to the fact that Mississippi is a great place to do business. I thank the team at Tower International for being a great business partner to the State of Mississippi and look forward to the company’s continued success in Meridian.”

The Mississippi Development Authority provided assistance in support of the project for infrastructure improvements and building modifications. Lauderdale County and the city of Meridian provided assistance, as well.

With corporate headquarters in Livonia, Mich., Tower’s 8,700 colleagues support the company’s global customers from 29 production facilities and seven engineering and sales locations throughout North America, Europe, Asia and South America.
