CORINTH, Miss. (WCBI) – Corinth police officer Kevin Parker Jr. is now recovering at home after being shot earlier this week.

The reward to find the gunman is now at 13 thousand dollars.

Parker was responding to a prowler call when the shooting happened.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation says agents are following up on tips and evidence is being examined at the state crime lab.

Police say a man jumped in front of Parker’s patrol car early Wednesday morning.

Parker tried to arrest the unidentified man but they fought over the officer’s gun.

Parker was shot with his service gun.

The suspect is described as a five foot nine black male, weighing about two hundred 50 pounds wearing dark clothes and a backpack.
