Itawamba Constable Candidate Passes Away

FULTON, MS (WCBI) – An interesting but unfortunate happening on next weeks Itawamba County ballot as one of the candidates dies unexpectedly.   39 year old Mitch Wilson of Tremont was the Republican nominee for the East Side constable post.  Wilson passed away Monday but his name is already on the  printed ballot.   The secretary of state says the county has the option of posting signs at the polling places telling voters of Wilson’s death.  Voters will also have the option of writing in names should they choose.  In the event, Wilson were to be elected, The county would have to call a special election for next November and appoint someone to be constable  for a year.
