COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)-It’s a staggering statistic…one in six women are victims of sexual violence, and students at the W are raising awareness. The MUW counseling center and Active Minds organization hosted “Jeans for Justice” today. It’s a national program to raise awareness for domestic and sexual violence. Victims were invited to paint their stories on a pair of jeans. Others could paint a pair in honor of a victim. The jeans are displayed outside the Hogarth Cafeteria and all are encouraged to stop by.
