Jones Will Keep ‘Eye’ on MUW Building Plans
COLUMBUS, Miss. – James “Jim” Jones of Guntown has been named project director for campus planning at Mississippi University for Women.
“As we focus on enhancing student residence halls, we are fortunate to have someone with Jim’s knowledge and breadth of experience to spearhead these efforts,” said Nora Miller, chief financial officer and senior vice president for administration.
He will work closely with the Department of Housing and Residence Life, Facilities Management and other university offices to develop the residence life component of the campus facilities master plan and will direct related construction projects.
As project director, Jones also will provide guidance and support in enhancing practices and procedures to ensure disaster preparedness and response, safety and sustainability at the university.
Jones said, “I am happy to be a member of the team at The W. I have worked closely with some of the team before and it is great to be able to work even closer now. Together we will continue to maintain and improve influences that make MUW a great institution of higher learning.”
He added, “I look forward to moving forward with the process to enhance our energy and sustainability programs, as well as our emergency management.”
Before joining The W, Jones served as executive director of facilities, director of campus planning and sustainability and assistant to the vice president of the Division of Agriculture, Forestry, and Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University.
