Jury Selected in Union County

UNION CO., Miss. – (WCBI) A jury has been selected in the sentencing phase of a man who pleaded guilty to killing his wife.

The 12 men and women will decide if 41-year old David Neal Cox, Sr. will spend the rest of his life in prison or face the death penalty.

The Pontotoc man pleaded guilty last month the May 2010shooting death of his estranged wife, Kim Kirk Cox.

He also pleaded guilty to two counts of kidnapping and burglary and three counts of sexual assault during a hostage situation involving two children.

Because this is a capital murder case, the jury must decide the sentence.
