Kosciusko Supt. Leaving For New Post

KOSCIUSKO, Miss. (AP) – The superintendent of the Kosciusko School District is resigning to take the same post with the Scott County schools.

WLIN-FM in Kosciusko reports (http://bit.ly/1QNIRqb ) that Tony McGee announced his decision Monday night to the local school board.

McGee’s resignation was immediate.

In Scott County, McGee takes over a school district where in February 2014 the entire school board resigned as a condition to not be taken over by the state.

Audits concluded that the Scott County district had been in violation of 27 out of 31 academic accreditation standards.

It was unclear what McGee’s exact start date might be with Scott County.

The Kosciusko School Board is beginning the search for an interim superintendent. A permanent superintendent will be hired later.
