Lafayette County Community Gets Resort Status

TAYLOR, Miss. (AP) – The Plein Air planned community and commercial district has been given qualified resort status by the Alcoholic Beverage Control division of the Mississippi Department of Revenue.

It becomes the third location in Lafayette County outside the city limits of Oxford to acquire resort status. Businesses inside the development can now apply for a license to serve hard liquor, wine, beer and light wine.

Any Plein Air business that qualifies for a liquor license can serve beverages from 10 a.m. to midnight, Monday through Saturday.

Other state-licensed resorts in Lafayette County outside of Oxford include the Colonel’s Quarters, which is allowed 24/7 service, and Ravine, whose allowable days and hours of service are tied to those of Oxford.
