Video: Lane Building Has New Owner

VERONA, Miss. (WCBI) — The former Lane plant in Verona has a  new owner and its a familiar name in the North Mississippi  furniture industry.

United Furniture Industries, which already has five plants operating in the region, is the high bidder for the former Lane plant in Verona.

Bankruptcy court officials accepted United’s $1.45 million bid for the 475,000 square-foot building and the 90 acres which surround it.

The other bidder for the site was a company called McCormick Drive. That firm is owned by Ashley Industries.

No word on what plans United has for the Verona plant site.
