STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)-Voters had a chance to meet one of the candidates running for the Senate District 16 position Saturday.

Petty’s BBQ in Starkville hosted the last minute campaigning for Angela Turner-Lairy. Folks were able to ask questions and get a chance to find out what Angela supports throughout the community. Angela says. she chose Petty’s BBQ to help promote the development for local counties.

“Pretty much to promote small business this is an interest that we have in economic development and also an opportunity to reach out to the community,” says Angela Turner-Lairy.

The special election will take place on January 15th to replace the late Bennie Turner who passed away in November of last year.
