LCSD Nets 3 Drug Arrests in Separate Cases

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (Press Release) — Three men are behind bars after drug arrests in two separate cases.

Deputies with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department (LCSD) responded to a domestic disturbance call Dec. 26 on Golding Road in Lowndes County. After investigating the situation, deputies arrested 30-year-old Columbus man Gary Shaw for domestic violence.

After Shaw was placed in custody, authorities found him to be in possession Xanax and Adderall. Agents of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit were contacted and took over the investigation. Shaw was then charged with possession of a controlled substance misdemeanor and possession of a controlled substance felony.

Shaw was taken to the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center. His bond has not been set.

In a separate case, LCSD deputies conducted a traffic stop Dec. 27 on Highway 50 in Lowndes County.

After a brief investigation authorities discovered passenger 29-year-old Steens man Marlon Kyles had outstanding warrants for his arrest. A search of the vehicle and occupants resulted in the seizure of marijuana and approximately 100 pills of MDMA, better known as Ecstacy. LCSD narcotics agents were contacted and took over the investigation. The driver, 31-year-old Marcus Dewayne Kyles, also of Steens, and Marlon were arrested and taken to the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.

Marcus was charged with possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and possession of ecstasy. Marlon was charged with possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and possession of ecstasy with intent to distribute.

Bond for neither men has been set.
