HOUSTON, Miss. (WCBI) — Local and state investigators still are asking the public’s help in solving a brutal stabbing death in Houston.

Houston Police Chief Billy Voyles said this morning that even the smallest bit of information could be important to making an arrest in the death of 75-year-old Ray “Shorty” Bevill at his home on Aberdeen Road.

An autopsy showed Bevill died from multiple stab wounds and that he had defensive wounds, suggesting he struggled with his attacker.

Investigators think Bevill may have known his attacker, but they aren’t releasing information about possible suspects. Bevill was last seen on the night of April 13 in the Wal Mart parking lot in Houston. His body was found the next evening.

Anyone with information is asked to call Houston Police or Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Department.
