Columbus, Miss. (WCBI) — Trail Life Mississippi, which is a branch of the Christian alternative branch to Boy Scouts Trail Life U.S.A., had their first annual Mississippi gathering at Lake Lowndes this weekend.

Troops from Columbus, Starkville, Iuka, Meridian, and New Albany all met to learn camping skills, as well as leadership while having some fun.

“This is…bigger than just what we’re doing here…”, said Columbus Troop 1027 Master Wendell Williams, “It’s bigger than just Columbus…its statewide, its nationwide and its a way that they can participate and be involved in something that is bigger than themselves.”
